Immigrant Educators Affinity Group

For first-generation immigrant educators

This series of conversations is designed for language educators who identify as first-generation immigrants. First-generation immigrants refer to individuals who moved from their country of origin to a new country, typically with the intention of settling and establishing a new life. This group welcomes participants of all immigration statuses. Its purpose is to address the unique experiences and challenges faced by immigrant educators in the American school system. It is a space where we hope to share our experiences as immigrants, provide support for each other, and build a sense of belonging in the ACTFL community.

This group will meet on the following dates, once a month from January - June 2024.

Thank you for your interest in ACTFL’s Affinity groups. If you identify with more than one of the groups, you are welcome to register for any other groups as well, on their respective forms. Note that we have planned the Zoom gatherings on different days to honor individuals’ intersecting identities.
